Hello Everyone!

I bid the land of Lincoln County farewell. It is a land of trucks and mountains and trains, sports and cows and plains. I have been here but a short time and have done my best. No baptisms yet but right now there are two with baptismal dates, 8 more that are actively meeting with us, and 3 new people that we picked up this past week. If I was here a little bit longer perhaps I would be around long enough to see fruits from my labors but that's okay. I have grown to love the people out here and have enjoyed the cooler weather, the meat that people supply us with, and the nice open roads. I'm ready to get back to the hussle and bussle of Las Vegas though. I am here with my new companion Elder Brinkerhoff. There's a name for you. We are in the very South of Vegas so it should be fun. I'm pretty close to my first area.

Thats what I love about my mission though, there has not been a dud area. At least yet. Each area has been so different and each with its upside and downs.

Here is a powerful verse from the New Testament

John 8
12 ¶ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Since it is transfers today I don't have too much time to email. But I do love each of you.

So The Tables Have Turned

Hey Everyone!

So my days in Pahrump are done. I am now in the Canyon Springs area. The top left corner of Las Vegas. You know how I told you about Elder Ebert a while ago? The really cool missionary that I went on exchanges with? Well now he is my companion. And I don't think I told you but I have got more and more responsibility as these transfers have gone by. 2 transfers ago I trained a greenie. Then last transfer I continued training and was called to be a district leader. Both of those were awesome experiences. And part of me was looking forward to being released and being a normal missionary. And president called and said thank you for your service Elder Law... I would like to call you to be a Zone leader. So that will be fun. I'm excited.

The last week of Pahrump was so good. We had so many miracles and finding new people and getting ready for a baptism this next upcoming Saturday. Elder Windham, my greenie was called to be the district leader and a trainer. I'm so proud of that kid. And with all the people that we found and taught Elder Windham and his new missionary will be spoiled. I'll share two really cool experiences from last week.

So we got a text from Keily saying she didn't want to see us anymore. We went by and she started off seeming upset with us but after talking with her for a while it turned out that her boyfriend was trying to push her away from us. We talked to her and she committed to coming to church. It was so cool how the Lord helped us to turn it from losing an investigator to her wanting to come to church.

The other was an appointment fell through and it was late at night and so we weren't sure what to do but we went and stopped by this less actives house and they didn't seem thrilled to see us but we talked to them and they said that she was thinking about coming to church and her nonmember husband Tony thought he should come to. They invited us in on the spot and we taught them a little but had to leave for another appointment. We went back two days later and he started off by saying that he was excited to come to church until he found out about us not approving gay marriage. So that was a great way to start off our first official lesson. But we testified to him of Gods love for us and that we love all people but we also follow whatever God says. By the end he was trying to convince his less active wife to go to church with him and she did. They came. That was the miracle of the week.

Alma 31
5 And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them...

Testifying of Christ's gospel has an effect on people. It has been neat to be a part of these miracles. God can really turn the tables if we put our trust in him. I love you and have a great week!

Pizza Pizza and more Pizza

October 16, 2017

Hey Everyone!

Its been a crazy week in the life of a zone leader. There is so much to do and no time to do it. As. Zone leaders we are always helping other missionaries and we did 10 hours of service this week moving people. It's really fun though. We are in an area close to the mountains and it's feels very similar to Perry. Everyone is rich and has big houses.

The first night we went and visited these recent converts. Their 3 kids were baptized a year ago and their parents got baptized 3 days before I got here. There was such a spirit in their house now that their whole family is baptized and working towards the temple.

We did some service for these two families moving lots of stuff. At both of them they provided us with pizza. We are teaching this 17 year old named Zach who is super solid. We taught a lesson at a members house and they had pizza. There was a block party. They had pizza. We had MLC. I thought there was no way that MLC would ever have pizza. Elder Ebert said they usually had home cooked food. They had pizza. So I am literally full of pizza.

Elder Ebert had this idea to do group lessons with Zach. So we would teach Zach and invite all the high school young men and young women from our ward and tell them to invite their non member friends and he has had 25 kids there this past week and 4 of them were non members. We did it again and it went well. The bishops love it. Their families love it. They love it. And we don't know why they love it. They must just think that missionaries are cool and this is some sort of exclusive class and so they come. So that was fun. The youth in this ward are doing great member missionary work. I love serving with them.

35 O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.
36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.

So here is a shout out to my little brother Travis and all the other amazing youth out there. Thanks for all you do and thanks for being strong in such a crazy world.

That's all the time that I have.
Not a lot today. But I love the Lord and I love my mission. Thanks for all that you all do.
